Getting The Car Home
The drive home was faultless apart from managing to get the auto box into park while driving through Sheffield, I had never driven an Auto before, scared the living day light's out of me and the guys behind me as the back wheels locked and it screeched to a halt, I pretended that some thing was wrong, not to look a complete idiot. I then struggled a bit (a lot) to get the filler caps off in a petrol station to put some juice in because I hadn't bothered to ask which key did what!
On getting home spent the rest of the day giving the car a good going over and despite the look on my wife's face at the pile of junk I had bought, I finally announced at tea time that it wasn't as bad as it looked, the floor's and sills where solid although it did show signs of corrosion in all the usual places, not some thing I was concerned about at the time.
